The Denali Highway cuts across interior Alaska from Paxson to Cantwell and is a 135 mile dirt and loose gravel road with almost no facilities of any kind. We were able to camp in various 'wild' sites wherever the spot and scenery took our fancy.
We enjoyed some great hiking and were able to pick just over a quart of blueberries! Luckily the bears hadn't discovered they were ripe yet, so we had them to ourselves!
We watched this baby bird just learning to fly...
Along the road we saw moose, caribou, and a young wolf--didn't have the camera when we saw him, though! We spent quite a while watching a cow moose and her young calf feeding in the brush.
