Tok, Alaska and the Nabesna Road in Wrangell-St. Elias

We left Chitina and headed toward Tok. A gift shop along the way offered free moose nuggets!

From Tok we took a ride on the other road into the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park--the Nabesna Road. This road was in MUCH better condition than the McCarthy Road and it had several beautiful primitive campsites along the way.

We had to cross several streams, but didn't need 4-wheel drive (thank goodness, because we didn't have it if we did :)).

This day was glorious with sun reflecting off the water in the many small lakes & ponds and the snow capped peaks.

Our new camping friends, Barb & John, would make great cruisers! They are so self-sufficient they even had a Honda generator and a spare pump for washing their truck in the stream!
